the most to you?

Public service means being a voice for the people you represent. This survey is one way for me to hear from you about what’s working, what isn’t, and what you want county government to focus on.

About Christine.

Christine Hamm is a nonprofit executive, community organizer, and advocate for inclusion and community empowerment who has called Huntley and McHenry County home for much of the past eighteen years. As executive director of a North American membership organization for relationship therapists, Christine has demonstrated visionary leadership—overseeing finance, marketing, member relations, and strategic growth, always anchored in transparency and organizational excellence.

Christine’s hands-on approach extends to civic life, serving as Grafton 29 precinct committeeperson and helping to organize the successful Candidates for All Kids grassroots campaign for the District 158 school board. She believes that strong, connected, and welcoming communities are built when every voice is heard. With a record of bringing people together around shared goals, she is committed to open government and responsive leadership.

Above all, Christine is dedicated to being a voice for the people of District 9. Guided by empathy, fairness, and principled democratic values, she works every day to ensure local government is shaped by the needs, concerns, and hopes of the community it serves.

Bringing balance and a fresh perspective to the County Board.

McHenry County government has been dominated by one party for a long time. Healthy government benefits from different perspectives, meaningful debate, and elected officials willing to challenge assumptions rather than simply reinforce the status quo. McHenry County is changing, and I believe voters are ready for greater balance and a new direction.

Putting residents before politics and power.

County government should work for the people who live here, not political insiders, party interests, or those with the most money and influence. Residents deserve representatives who listen, take their concerns seriously, and put their needs at the center of decisions.

Bringing collaborative problem-solving to the County Board.

Balance doesn’t have to mean more division. I want to listen, ask good questions, find common ground, and work across the aisle when it produces better results for McHenry County. We can bring different perspectives to the table, disagree when necessary, and still work together to get things done.

Planning thoughtfully for McHenry County’s future.

The decisions we make today about growth, development, infrastructure, land use, conservation, and emerging economic opportunities will shape our county for decades. I want to make sure those decisions are thoughtful, responsible, and informed by both their long-term impact and the voices of the people who live here. We can embrace opportunities for the future while protecting the character, natural resources, and quality of life that make McHenry County a great place to call home.

Proud Supporter of Organized Labor.png

I believe working people deserve fair pay, safe workplaces, good benefits, and a real voice on the job. Strong unions help families build stable lives and help create stronger communities. I stand with organized labor and working people in support of dignity, fairness, and opportunity for all.
